DR. TINA DOW
Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences Assistant Professor
Dr. Dow teaches undergraduate courses in Anatomy, Physiology of Reproduction, and Exercise Physiology Anatomy, as well as co-coordinating the Human Physiology labs. Her research focus investigates the influence of reproductive and health status on resource utilization of male African elephants within National Parks and human settlements.

DR. KATELYN COOPER
Assistant Professor
Dr. Cooper is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at UCF. She is a biology education researcher who studies the experiences of LGBTQ+ students and faculty in academic biology. She also studies how anxiety and depression affect students in science. You can read more about her research here! Dr. Cooper identifies as gay and participates in multiple national efforts to make biology more inclusive for LGBTQ+ individuals; she is a member of the American Society for Cell Biology LGBTQ+ task force and also part of the Society for the Advancement of Biology Education Research (SABER) LGBTQ+ special interest group. DR. ERIN HANSON
Research Associate Professor

Dr. Hanson is currently a Research Associate Professor at the National Center for
Forensic Science (NCFS) at the University of Central Florida (UCF). She also has a
Secondary Joint Appointment in the Department of Chemistry, where she teaches
forensic biochemistry. Her research focus is forensic genomics with a specialty in
improved analysis of late reported sexual assaults, body fluid identification and DNA
profiling of single or few cells. Both undergraduate and graduate student researchers are
involved in all areas of this research to support the laboratory motto of ‘every victim
deserves a voice.’

CHASE MASON
Assistant Professor in Biology
Chase is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Central Florida. As a plant evolutionary ecophysiologist, Chase researches the diversity of plant functional traits, including their genetic architecture, their evolutionary history, and how they influence biotic interactions. He is also the faculty advisor for two registered student organizations - the campus chapter of the Botanical Society of America, and the Pride Student Association.
